Chip-on-board tape places up to 480 emitters per metre behind a continuous phosphor layer. Where a conventional strip shows a row of dots in a reveal, this reads as a single drawn line — which is why it is specified wherever the fitting is visible.

Colour rendering at 90 keeps timber, stone and skin tones true. Below 80 a warm white starts flattening the materials it lands on.

Driver heat is the usual cause of early LED failure. Extruded aluminium sheds it in a way a plastic case cannot, from 60W through 400W.

Two strips can carry the same wattage on a datasheet and behave nothing alike after a year on a wall. The difference is in the parts of the specification nobody quotes in a showroom.
TOUCHON boards are built on 2oz and 3oz copper rather than the thinner foil common at this price. Heavier copper carries current with less resistance and pulls heat away from the emitters, which is what keeps the far end of a long run as bright as the first metre and stops the colour drifting as the board ages.
Drivers are cased in extruded aluminium for the same reason. The Smart series adds a double-sided electro-plated PCB so current reaches every emitter evenly across a full reel.
